so...it's the last weekend of summer, the second last day before the final year of highschool starts and i'm sitting here thinking about the question my dear friend Cheryl Li asked me on tuesday.
What was biggest lesson this summer?
This summer I must say, has been different. There's been some happy times and some times where I just want to crawl in my bed and cry. There's been times where i laughed so hard my face hurt and times where I just don't want to face reality. This summer, I must say has been filled with lessons as well as blessings beyond belief. I thank God for allowing me to wake up every morning and know that there is a purpose for each day. So I've learned two VERY important things this summer.
Love
This word brings up so many emotions. Pain. Joy. Disappointment. Confusion. Growth. Satisifaction.
I've learned that love really isn't as easy as I thought it was. Love takes so much more than just three words to show someone you love them. This past summer, my grandfather passed away and as much as I loved him, I never felt that I loved him enough. After he died, i felt guilty that I guess I never spent as much time with him as I should have. For a time, I felt a huge amount of regret overcome me, of things I wish I did. I guess I never really knew how much I loved him until his funeral and I jus cried my eyes out, realizing how much he loved me and truly how proud of me he was. Grandparents, my grandparents anyways, sometimes don't know how to show how much they love you. But I realized that every smile, every laugh, or just that simple look on his face when he was able to go out to eat or see the whole family together, that memory is enough to put a smile on my face.
I also learned that I'm so afraid to love. It's true. After what happened last summer, I've been so scared to love, so scared of hurting somebody. And yet that fear is the very thing that got me into a mess because as much as I'm scared to love, I want to love. to the point where I no longer knew where my border was. I learned that loving an imperfect person is hard but heck that's what love is right? otherwise it'll be darn easy. I learned love can be disappointing but at the same time can be so amazing because it can make someone do crazy things. Before the summer, one of my counsellors told me that my view of love was very immature, that view of love being that it can create a lot of pain. But this summer allowed me to see those amazing, selfless parts of love, those unforgetable moments that are forever irreplaceable. So thank you.
I am also amazed by the fact that God could love a person like me.
Time
I learned that time doesn't wait for you. You want to do something? GO DO IT. ha i should follow my own advice shouldn't i. This summer, i learned to cherish EVERYTHING from a simple lunch to amazing chillage with people. From family dinnners to joax at the mall. I realized that every moment counts and everything is equal. Everything I do is going to count for eternity. EVERYTHING. So even when I feel like nobody is watching me, God is. So why not make the most out of my time? and do everything with a smile : )

k...so what are you suppose to do when your parents don't believe in you?
when they tell you school is everything? and that serving isn't important? that I can't put much time into fellowship as I hoped or as I did last year? that I'm not allowed to think I can do something big because I just can't since a 90 average is the MOST important right now. What in the world are you suppose to say to that? How are you suppose to bargain your way out of it.
Serving God without your parents supporting you kind of sucks. I mean...I'm getting scoulded at because I want to see my fellow brothers and sisters grow...because I feel like I can and truly want to make a difference. ouch...that hurts man.
I've prayed about this so much, which led me to the decision of writing the cabinet thing in the first place...and now I'm back to where I started...wondering...confused...

- lunch @ marlowe's : ) soo yummy it made me happy : ) haha
- the interesting spread for our bread...it has alcohol in it! so i didnt like it
- i showed him my seahorse poo : ) i am no longer a deprived child ahha
- amazing talk about so many of my problems : ) thanks boy
- me not able to finish my food and me bargaining with him to help me finish it : ) i was SO full man.
- darren treating me to lunch :)
- "shortcuts" when he drives hah
- went to the park, where i went on the swings and darren pushed me too high, from the front, and got sand all over his face >=) serves you right for pushing me :P
- tsang: man how could you ditch me & mel and not go to loo?

so this weekend has been awesome :) God has truly blessed me with A-M-A-Z-I-N-G people and events.
Friday: Grad night
It was so hectic i think was going to cry. haha i remember worship practice not going so well and sound and video not going so well...i was soo freaking out. (ask mel & darren, they would know) im sorry for all those who i yelled @. sooo we ended up starting @ like...8..and everything just went smoothly. God is great, and truly He provided. There were tears, a huge buncha laughs, and amazing memories :) It was a blessing planning grad night for people you care so much about. I love you guys : ) each of you have impacted my life and i don't know how to thank you for that.
Saturday: softball & mad nintendo fun.
so woke up at 10, went to softball @ 11:30, iwas like the first person there! haha so i threw around with jt and eric..aww man i think i almost like broke my hand. haha but yea. i think before the game i was SOO out of it. soo tired man haha but then the game came, and it was fun. haha and popsicles are yummy (thanks freddy) and stealing darren's popsicle is also very yummy haha (the red & white parts are still the best) so after softball, we had devos led by freddy and then we decided to go to market village and as we were leaving...or about to leave..me and darren experienced very scary things (well i did, darren found it funny) so i was scared. and david thought it was funny too : ( not funny boys!) so then me, darren & mel sat in dt's car and sang far away and photograph the ENTIRE time there because mel didn't konw any of the other songs. so now our song is far away :P
"cuz YOU KNOW YOU KNOW YOU KNOWWW" : ) haha aww i miss you mel.
so then we went to market village, where we were in awe of some people who were skipping rope haah it was crazy! ahaha and they're going to b in the olympics & stuff : ) haha it was so cool haha then we decided to go 2 darren's house and since my parents were still @ lakeshore, i could go : ) yay soo off in darren's car to darren's house we go. or..i go. haha omgsh...darren is a very scary, angry driver. and i learned something new : ) that it's illegal to talk on the fone while u're driving. haha darren is very educational. then we talked more about my issues : ) thanks tsang. and we got to his house, where david, mel & jason joined us : ) haha we played mario cart, super smash bros, & awesome AWESOME mario 64. haha AMAZING haha it's fun! haha and melody was hogging it haha we had these really good jam cookies and darren owned me with the cloud on super smash. then i showered and went out for dinner w/ my family. Then i went to my aunt's, where i ate cake.
Sunday: church, shopping
so went to church : ) congratulated jess for being engaged :P haha went to sunday school @ timmies. ahha : ) then barry & osgood came. and me, issy, barry & osgood had quite an interesting boys conversation. i learnt a few things
1. barry is VERY observant about other ppl's lives.
2. osgood is oblivious :P
haha so it was fun. then i went out to lunch near markville so my cousins & i decided to go shopping and so we did haha : ) i helped my cousin buy 2 tops and i got nothing : ( i was quite sad, but it's okay! haha went home, watched a movie, ate dinner, played ddr, guitared and played piano : ) haha that's basically my sunday.
so God is good

i spent the night (and day) over at the coolEST place ever.
i am cool.
(not really.)
because ACTUALLY, mel is cooler.
THE coolEST.
today i made breakfast, there was egg , sausage, crab meat, tomato, cheese and waffles.
yummy?
more like interesting.
i learned that mel is skillful in carrying a conversation while being 3/4 asleep. its quite the interesting story.
mel is awesome at monopoly, she owns all. better than me. better than grace. better than DARREN. (you suck dt.)
we played mario. i sucked. darren sucked, but mel was AWESOME.
we flew a kite. mel knows how to run, the kite was cool - it was elmo.
aw yiu fay gaw g-u. (pronounce imagining chinese language - ping-yum)
aw day fay g-u ho ho.
so really, there was no failure.
we were attempting to make cookes, but we learned how to relax each other by pinching ears. (hahha. ha.)
we watched many tv shows.
we played with toys.
darren got ADD.
darren got hurt.
many times, but i don't care.
the mobile in mel's room was quite dangerous, but it really only hurt darren.
HAHA.
okay.

VBC'06
so VBC is finally over...
the yelling, the stress, the fear of losing my kids, and ofcourse the awesome fun, the crazy laughs : )
so yes...i lost my voice but in the end, oh so rewarding :) i had an amazing time serving God with my awesome assistant crew leader jackie! : ) haha thanks girl! ahha for your first time, you were amazing. haha i loved my kids : ) i miss them soo muchhh haha it's like..every year you meet like...7 more kids...and you begin realizing how important they are to you. i love children! so innocent and so curious ahha. and oh so funny : ) and it's awesome just getting to know other crew leaders and people more : ) and it was always good to know my "oasis" (aka the AV room) was always open for me to chill and get a break : ) soo oh yes it was rewarding from michael's colourful fingernails to my awesome shirt which is now filled with little kids writing to watching my group and everybody else memorize bible verses, it was a happy week! : ) now that it's all over, the anxiety, the worries, the screaming, the ranting haha it all doesn't matter anymore because God has worked and that is my reward :)

5. i think monkeys and penguins are the coolest animals in the world

coffeehouse 2006
last night...was exhilerating : ) absolutely not what i expected. God is great, truly He is.
So i was at church from 12 to like...10:30 yesterday haha and at the end of the day, man i was exhausted. haha cooking with keren was joax : ) haha making jello and then brownies ahha then grace came and we went to go buy MORE brownie stuff and hahaha so joax : ) i love shopping with grace haha. our highlights included seeing a girl that looked EXACTLY like annabelle..no joax, going to no frills and realizing that we totally forgot about money.hahah luckily i had money.hahah geez grace...haha when you go shopping, you need to pay! lolz : ) haha then we didn't know how to get to mich's house..even though i said i knew..yea dont trust me with directions haha : P so yess ahha soo joax. aww man. haha and after that, i was high for the rest of the day haha and cooking was cool : ) until i realized i got brownie mix all over me and grace drove me home to change : ) ahha then went back..had lampa practice with melody : ) haha soo sick of that song now. and we had worship practice..which didnt start until 6:45 because we had to set up and everything. but hte setup was so cool : ) haha with the drums in the middle & everything haha : ) woot woot so we had practice..for the first time together..and it went through okay..we ended up cutting God is great...but w/e
so after practice..i sat there for a while..thinking about God's will for tonight and then..got me thinking about my grandfather, looking down on me and being proud of me. I don't think he's ever seen me like.on stage before. I know he's watching over me. made me want to cry a little...hey but i gotta pull it together. so i drank a lito water...and i was okay
so coffeehouse...was about to start, we prayed, all the coffeehouse people and it began : ) haha man i must tell you, it was awesome. the hype..was incredible haha so im looking around..no darren tsang. haha me and mel..grr we'll kill him. haha so drama was pretty good. : ) you guys did awesome and it was very..down to earth..different from all the other ones. worship turned out good...i loved my team : ) i loved the energy. haha thanks for the great time guys. then we had the sermon that freddy gave and then me and mel went up..omgsh i was sooo scared..like..i was shaking and going insane! haha then when mel started playing i looked up..OMGSH DARREN TSANG HAHA so i sang...with as much confidence as i could possibly take outta my body and during the entire time...he was like..giving me thumbs ups..andi was trying hard NOT to laugh. haha by the end of the song..omgsh i was shaking...in my head..iw as like..omgsh i did it i did it..haha scaryy ahha aparently gencan thought it wasnt live. ahha and was amazed haha so yes : ) coffeehouse was awesome : ) God truly has some crazy plans for us : ) haha
and so joax with mel and darren after coffeehouse : ) haha good to chill with all 3 of us again : )haha just like last summer haha <3>

so i guess things do happen...

yayyy i got my G2 : ) woot woot
and thanks for the talk yesterday mel : ) haha our awesome 1hr phone conversation. man just so many things im discontent about...just have to get it all out. ahha and when dt comes back, we'll yell about it to him too.
so..my day was...very scary..and i don't know....so i woke up this morning to drive my brother to swimming and went with my mom to my grandparents where i had to sit there till like....12 with my grandma while everybody else took my grandpa to see the doctor to do an ultrasound or something. then i went out for lunch with my grandparents...only to have my grandpa come to the restaurant and not being able to exactly breathe properly because apparently he was lying down too long at the doctors..so my mom had to drive to the restaurant to get him home...but we realized something was wrong...cuz he was breathing abnormally and he was just weak...like my mom & my aunt had to literally lift him up. so they got scared...and decided to bring him to the hospital..so now im sitting at home..with both my parents at the hospital with my grandpa who is currently in critical condition and is staying overnight at the hospital.
so that's not exactly how my day was SUPPOSED to go..but it's amazing how God opens up your eyes. so before lunch, my grandma came and showed me all these photo albums of things like my mom's wedding or when my aunts were younger and things like that and watching as people change..and looking at the pictures of my grandpa and seeing how thin and weary he's grown, it made me realize the fragility of life (if that's even a word) I mean...when my brother and i got home, my brother asked me..."do you think he's going to live?" it made me angry..i mean how negative could u get..but at the same time...it's a reasonable question to ask. and it scares me. I've never been to a funeral my entire life...and God has truly blessed me. but today, feeling a totally different anxiety and fear for someone else's life...it's scary. I mean...after lunch when i went back to the apartment with my grandma to keep her company...i realized i couldnt sit still or stop worrying about my grandfather and whether or not he's okay.
life is precious...and God has showed me that. and He's also showed me that sometimes the only thing you could do is pray.

Today is a special day : )
i love youuuu. haha soo joax today haha okay so david picked me up at 1 to go to mel's house...and we found this lady who was lying there...and i thought that there was nothing wrong with her...few seconds later..u hear police and ambulance..we're like..uhoh. so now i feel bad..i hope she's okay.
so we arrived to mel's house...and david didnt tell mel we were coming. lolz failure. soo we said bye to tim & silas who were leaving to play tennis...and we went into mel's house...we saw the cheesecake : ) and we put it in the fridge and went up to mel's room :) where i played w/ some magnety things jc gave her and saw her cute lil kiddy pictures and talked to dtsang who wasnt there. then we went out : ) to....
glaze craze! haha..and during the ride there, mel was giving me a tour around the place she lives haha :P so joax haha her tour stops at centre point haha so we went to glaze craze..and i chose a turtle, mel chose a butterfly, and david chose a hippo. haha it was quite stressful for melody haha to decide on so many things haha oh dear. haha we have matching animals now : ) we decided to share colours haha. and it was so difficult picking tiles haha i think the woman was getting tired of us constantly showing up asking for more colours. haha and mel kept failing :P screaming when she messes up and moving the table all the time :P haha and asking the lady for 2 of the colours she JUST put back lolz! haha so that was fun : ) havent done anything artsy for a while..then we went to...

summer...FINALLY
soo im at nat jeh's house right now :) haha and my back is sunburned haha greattttt

-had an easy, 2 hour exam with 20mins to spare
-went to wonderland with my favorite losers in the world :) my two daughters haha
-went to splashworks..which was almighty refreshing in 45 degrees weather
-bought a green tea frap : ) cuz i like those haha
-went on sledgehammer, vortex, and the fly
haha yayy start of summer FINALLY

-doing devos with softball people every game and just learning something new and bonding with people
-that my parents look out for what's best for me
-how my friends catch me when i fall
-being woken up in the morning by the sound of birds outside my window (even though it's like.. 6 in the morning)
-watching morning cartoons

friday was fun : ) walking around w/ my cell group and making pretty magnets : ) haha it was cool and i met this new girl named queenie : ) haha and i got scared of going up people's porches who had their lights on haa it was so funny. haha
softball game today :) and we lost : ( but it's okay! we went out for ice cream after. haha me & mel & kitty shared a double scoop...yo it's pretty big. haha it was yummy : ) i liked jamocaa hehe haha and so joax talking about si :P haha kitty you're so funny. haha i love u guys : )
then chow chow drove me home
and i have so many bruises & bumps from softball..it's okay! all worth it haha. my scars from being a hero according 2 jc. lol

blessings
haha last night was amazing : )
worship was a lot of fun : ) haha with jt's cool intro and what not : ) yayy haha
then bible study, omgsh totally AMAZING : ) i loved it! like absolutely loved it! and i got something out of it too! and like i wasn't tired that day or anything. and it was more discusssion : ) and we had so much energy and our group was just so comfortable and stuff : ) yayyyy haha praise the Lord! : ) totally His doing! I love my cell group!
and amazing thanks to sharon and eric last night haha well more sharon than eric. hahha cuz eric was more making fun of me haha i love you guys to death. : ) haha eric can always make me laugh :P haha i love u ah gor <3
my life is quite complicated, but it's okay! i have friends and God to carry me through! : )
although summer school is draggy haha there are some good stuff:
- get to chill with my friends at the park during lunch
- get to chill and fool around with people in my class haha getting to know new people
- inside jokes like "monster" ahaha
- getting good marks : )
- getting a good teacher
- not sitting at home all day
haha sooooooo : ) yeshh ahah two more weeks or so...im getting a 95 in this course : ) woot woot! haha
and yayy softball game today at 4 at goldhawk! come watch us play! goooooo BELOVED!

my day consists of:
- getting my report card
- getting my test back
- learning two chapters and doing homework
- eating with my relatives
im tired : ( and i have a test AGAIN tomorrow and another one FRIDAY insanity!
haha but i did good on report card! 93.5 average baby!
but i did bad on my test ...well "bad" becuase i was looking for 90 & over...haha so...87 doesnt cut it..and i hafta get 93 or higher in data management haha i bet david on it haha
and once again : ) i love my cousins haha aww man they're so joax : P

the happy post : )
forget my angry post! haha why? because God is good : ) ALL THE TIME. He is just so amazing. Giving and taking away :) SOOOO...my weekend turned out amazing!!! :) let's recap shall we?
Friday:
Fellowship was reflection night. It was cool, planning with mel and david on worship and chilling at my house. hahaha with david loving my mom's cooking. haha then off to fellowship...reflected with eric and grace and just thinking about my year, what God has done and stuff : ) really cool talking to them and just about the things God has done for them : ) I loveee hearing about the lives of my brothers and sisters :) And we made a cross : ) haha i'm smart and got it haha so yea that was fun :) this was the night where i was upset...but, God being awesome, was there for me : ) Prayer is power yo'
Saturday:
sssssoftball : ) woot woot! our first two games. haha i got browner...ANOTHER tan line..i have like...10 now haha it's insanity! but yea : ) just such an awesome time of cheering on each other, encouraging, praying, devotions, and fellowshiping : ) and with God's grace, we won both games. : ) woot woot! go BELOVED! :) it was awesome too, just getting to meet people from Drifters and Samaritans :) thenn..deenerrr with my beloved-erssss :) haha andy u gotta send me those picturessssss ahha me and mel (don't smell the food, *puts finger under nose) hahhaa and changing people's fones to different languages : ) hahaha : ) and she's turning more into meeee haha and our whole table talking about like hot girls and pretty girls and hot guys hahaahahhaa soo joax : ) i love you guys :)
Sunday:
church :) went to sunday school for once for a while. then helped the little kids make bookmarks : ) made one toooooo : ) haha it has a feather on it haha so then i went home and ate with my second aunt who i've never met before and my grandparents. THEN i did data while all my uncles went to my uncle's house because he has HD TV to watch world cup. Italy ended up winning. lol my dad came home and drove me and my mom to my uncles where we had bbq : ) then me and my cousin went for a walk : ) it was so nice and we got to chat and stuff, which was really cool : ) then we came back and my other cousin, he played piano for like 17 years now...and if you sing him a song, he can play for u it was soo awesome! : ) i came in..and he was playing hungry! :) i was like..cool so i sang and then he played indescribable and stuff :) then he played all these BSB and N'sync songs and like....even older songs like...beatles and "right here waiting" and stuff : ) ohh funnn then me and him jammed. i tuned his gtar and started playing God of wonders...he was like...oh and he started playing too!!! :) haha and we jammed and stuff : ) ohh i love my cousinssss such awesoem time bonding and chilling w/ my family : ) Praise the Lord :)
